A Light In The Dark Designs

ALITDD
2005 Website

^^^^      A Light In The Dark Designs, was a potential name for a business or website thought of back around 2005.  I was getting into digital photography and back then the mega pixels weren’t quite as high as they are today though some of the cameras were still well made.  I would really like taking the camera out at night time during the dark hours.

Wandering around somewhat aimlessly all around suburban and urban areas where street lights were.   Street lights or other types of outdoor lighting during dark was attracting to take photographs of how the colors would turn out was very pleasing.

I created a website I think using some Dreamweaver at the time.  The idea for the name was not only was inspired by these various lights in the dark.  It also gave meaning to being in the dark metaphorically and this company would provide designs of lighting the dark to see.  As I pondered about this, the meaning began deepening even further.

The button menu navigation links to pages within this small website were created photographically and digitally manipulated with a nifty lighting effect on mouse roll over.  This site was very small with a page to display a few of my oil pastels at the time.

Since 2005 sites like WordPress, Wix, Weebly, etc.  really seem to be capitalizing on the artisan aspect of web designers who like to create from scratch HTML CSS code or using software like Adobe Dreamweaver for more customization ability and artistic freedom.   Nowadays with the rapid growth of technology and the inter-webs things seem to be getting pretty commercialized and business oriented.  Looking at all the various themes as mandatory options for setting up a website for instance really makes me kind of nauseous.  Staring into a browser based interface to create a website is frustrating when all that is wanted is to upload organized folders of files.  With no easy way around being forced to select from a default template or already created theme for design.  It could be considered striping the artist of their medium when that option or feature is not given but I’m sure there are more positive ways to look at things.

Here’s another latest piece of oil pastels;

Not sure which direction I would prefer to hang this.
